Imagine 20+ four-year-olds crowding around a laptop to watch an educational video. “Stop touching me,” “Teacher, I cannot see,” “You are in my way,” “Please sit down so everyone can see,” the comments continue. This is what it’s like in our K3 and K4 classrooms when the teachers show video clips. Our preschool rooms are not equipped with modern technology.
Now picture this, 20+ four-year-olds sitting criss-cross applesauce on a large carpet looking patiently at the whiteboard. The teacher starts the video clip and it appears on the whiteboard, large enough for everyone to see it from his or her spot on the carpet. Now, what might you hear? The sound of children learning, “Wow, did you see that?” “Teacher, why did that happen?” along with many other educational questions.
YOU can help ensure that all preschool children will be able to see any video clips that are shown in class. YOU can help our little visual learners by supporting our POPs Campaign.
